How often should I be exfoliating my skin?

The frequency of exfoliating your skin depends on your skin type, the type of exfoliant you’re using, and how your skin responds to it. Here’s a general guideline:

1. Normal to Dry Skin Exfoliate 1-2 times a week.
2. Combination Skin 2-3 times a week.
3. Oily Skin 3-4 times a week.

However, it’s crucial to pay attention to how your skin reacts. If you notice any irritation, redness, or excessive dryness, you may be exfoliating too often. In that case, reduce the frequency or switch to a gentler exfoliant. Additionally, if you’re using chemical exfoliants like AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) or BHAs (beta hydroxy acids), start with less frequent use and gradually increase as your skin tolerates it. Always follow up with moisturizer and sunscreen after exfoliating to protect your skin.
